2013 GLK250BT
I just had oil/filter replaced (DIY) at 28,500KM.
Purchased oil and filter from MB dealership.
Got a MB brand oil (last time it was Mobil 1), over the parts counter.
NEW - oil spec has been updated to 229.52 by Mercedes.
So now it will be "running" on 0W-30 ESP instead of 0W-40.
Should be protecting engine better especially on very low temperatures, since it's thinner.
Anyone aware of this "new" spec oil recommendation?

Low sulfur and phosphorous(SAP) And low on zinc too. To me that means better for emissions but not better for engine wear. I won't let dealers and their vacuum pump oil changes near my car, but I have a lift to easily drop middle pan.All other filters are easily changed from above.i used 5/40 esp but i'am still looking for 0/40 or 0/30 esp. Still believe in 3k oil changes, but i'am keeping my car long term.
