Roof bars on GLK

I folks

I have a question about roof bars that come with the GLK.

There are aluminum roof bars and black roof bars, but, have they different shapes? or are they equal.

are 2010 GLK roof bars different from 2014GLK?

In some pictures i see in this forum they apparent have differente shapes.

thanks....

There is a place that sells http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-OEM-Roof-Rack-Basic-Carrier-Cross-Bars-2013-to-2014-GLK-Class-X204-/301011608973?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4615b0a58d&vxp=mtr. They have GLK crossbars and list different ones for the 2013/4 models (check thir other listings)

Good price in USA ($275), but not delivered to us in Canada.

Has anyone bought these cheap eBay crossbars?:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Roof-Rack-Cross-Bars-Luggage-Carrier-Mercedes-Benz-GLK-R-G-Series-/190813025068?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item2c6d57b32c

I emailed them and they said they would fit a 2014 GLK.

These will fit the 2014 GLK250. Our universal cross bars require a gap of 1"-1.5" between the roof rails and the top of the vehicle in order to fit. As long as your vehicle has the roof racks, our bars will be able to clamp onto it. Please refer to the picture in the listing along with the YouTube video for reference.
There are also these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/48-ALUMINUM-ADJUSTABLE-ROOF-RACK-CROSS-BARS-LUGGAGE-CARRIER-JEEP-BENZ-120CM-/300987017796?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AGLK350&hash=item4614396a44&vxp=mtr
OE rails cost about C$400 incl tax at dealer. The others about US$70. Quite a difference!

I have Yakima Whispbars on my GLK.
They look great. Low profile and fairly low noise.

I think I heard that Yakima don't yet have bars to fit the 13/14 models.

I have Whispbars on my 2014 BT. No problems, they look great.

It took a few tries to get the bike trays positioned correctly so they didn't touch the pano sunroof when its open, but its doable. I like how they're relatively low profile. Wind noise is pretty much average for any roof rack. You can hear it but you have stuff on your roof so in my mind its to be expected.

Not sure what are you trying to fit there, but the Whispbar site is different from the main Yakima site.. http://www.whispbar.com/product/rail-bar/

They do fit.. anyway..

There seems to be conflicting information. For example, going to this site and clicking on the Fit Whispbar link, it also says nothing available for 2014 GLK. Our local dealer also said they did not yet have a solution for 2014. But he is also likely using the Yakima/Whispbar sites. For 2013, which should be the same, they have bars, so it is probably just a website problem.

Anyway, I will most likely get the OEM bars, so don't want to prolong this discussion.

thanks...

for cross bars I got whispbars and when they are mounted close together they make a noise like a whistle. we have to separate them (more than about 60 cm).

My first question was about roof bars of the GLK (bars that come with GLK) longitudinal bars. There are different models, aluminum colored, black colored, and i have seen a mixture , aluminum with some black parts.

I sow a lot of glk's and i thing there are a different shapes for the longitudinal roof bars.

Thanks again folks...

Get roof bars with the t slot. The t slot makes the bar more versatile to hold more different accessories. And when you mount accessories on t slot, the overall height is lowered which makes reaching your accessory (e.g. ski rack) easier.

Finally got a semi decent day to put on my MB Cross Bars. Took about 5 minutes from opening up the box to finishing the installation. I think they look great.

I still have to put on my MB ski racks, but they didn't come with instructions. So I am waiting to get those from the dealership.
