Bubble on my Tire

I got a bubble on the sidewall of my 20" Pirelli's on a 2013 GLK350. Anyone have an extra they want to sell or know a good place to buy one?

Here are some pictures. The first is the bubble, right on the P. The others are the size and name, Pirelli Scorpion Zero 235/45 20. Sorry, the car is dirty.

Looks like typical curb damage to me... start with Tire Rack to determine a fair price for the tire and then see if a local shop will compete with them on a comparable price.

Must have been a pot hole, in New York they are unavoidable. I called some local shops and ended up ordering from tirerack. $198 seems like a good price.

The 20" are notorious for sidewall bubbles when meeting potholes.... Just not enough sidewall rubber... They're asking $350+ north of the border!
Then you'll have the dealer trying to sell you 2 tires.... cause the spec for the 4-matic suggest something less than 3/32nds difference between right to left wheel!!!

Unfortunetly this will happen at times.

Best thing to do is switch it out ASAP to be safe.

I agree try tire rack first and from there look around local tire shops in NY.

But remember Tire rack will charge you for the wheel to be shipped to you so a Local shop would be a better option to go for you.

Wish you luck

Tire rack was $198 with $21 to ship it. Still cheaper than the local shops were asking. I ordered it yesterday morning and it arrived a couple hours ago. Went and had it installed at a local tire shop. When he took the wheel off, there was a small dent on the inside of the wheel. It must have been a big pothole.

You should have your wheel checked for damage. If your wheel gets bent out of round it could still balance but the damage will cause some instability as well as premature wearing of the tire.
We have a shop in the SF Bay area that works on aluminum alloy wheels to true them as well as repaint them. They end up looking and tracking like new for less than $200 a wheel. This is still cheaper than a premature tire replacement let alone a wheel replacement. Look for this kind of shop with good reviews in the NY area. For those on the West Coast, it's Rite Way Wire & Wheel Specialists in Walnut Creek.
