2010 GLK350 iPhone 5 USB Device Not Compatible

Got sick of having to leave my iPhone in the glove box so decided to try to use the USB cable I got when I received the iPod integration kit with the regular USB cable that comes with the iphone 5. Got it plugged in but COMAND won't read it. I get a Device Not Compatible Error. iPhone Bluetooth works fine. All I want to do is be able to listen to Rdio from my iphone. Any ideas on a fix to make this work?

I drive a 2010 GLK and have the ipod integration kit.

The ipod integration kit is compatible with the iPhone 4. I basically bought an adapter for $2 off amazon so that my iPhone 5 can plug into the iPod kit in the glovebox. It works fine.

Can you control iphone 5/s properly from the interface? That has been my problem since iphone 4s, 2010 GLK's system is really designed for iphone 3!!!

To OP, there is another way that I'm looking to solve this is using a bluetooth connector that plugs into the aux port. So the phone will connect via BT to the connector, turn car audio system to AUX and use iphone to control selections

I personally have the iPhone 5. My last phone was the iPhone 4 which I leave connected in my GLK 24/7 it works fine.
