Down in Ft Myers for 2 months... Looking for a good independent to service my tranny lube. Right at that mileage and would like to take advantage of some reasonable rates compared to the Canadian 'stealership' offers!
thanks in advance...

Anybody???? The MB dealership here is talking $475>$500!!! I called one Indie... he suggested the same dollars. Maybe I'm in the wrong town!

Not much I can help you with in Ft Myers. I'm in West Palm and you probably dont want some DIYer doing it for you anyway. Keep in mind the Fluid was near $100 or so (I think can't remember off the top of my head) and it would take about 2 hours on a lift. At $100/hour you're at around $300 even for a cheap indy.
Also, you need to buy all new bolts for the drain pan, a new gasket, and the filter. I can't remmber if that was included in the $100 or so order I placed the last time I did one.

Thanks for your reply.... I spoke to one indy wanted the same as the MBdealer $500.>600. all in. (Ft Myers)
I've given it some more thought and more research!!! DIY is on my mind when I get back home... Dealers are charging $25>$35 /litre for the proper oil. I've found it online for $15.62/litre w/ free shipping.... basically $156 for 10 litres of the Fuchs 134FE(they changed to that after build date june2010 (MBZ236.15)). They also sell the specific filter, O-rings, bolts, etc So, with time on my hands... about $200 all in. I do all other work on this GLK, except for updates (which are done when there's a visit for warranty work). It's certainly pretty straight forward.
There are some excellent write-ups/video on doing this & I have the tools...! why not??
