Bump sensation when stopped
Hi guys!
I'm a GL350 owner, but my brother has a 2013 GLK 250 BT. I haven't ridden in it as he's in Florida for the winter and I'm in Minnesota, but when he comes to a stop, like at a stop sign a few seconds later there is a bump, almost like someone bumped him from behind.
It seems like it must be a surge in the engine or a slip in the transmission or something like that. He took it to the dealer in Sarasota, they can feel the problem, but so far haven't been able to figure out what is causing it. They've searched the problem databases to no avail.
Has anyone else seen anything like this that we can point the service guys to? Thanks in advance.

I experienced that after I am stopped in "E" mode; for some reason the transmission shifts to 1st (usually in 2nd in "E") and causes car to momentary lunge forward. Can duplicate by stopping in drive mode "E" then manually shifting into 1 with paddles, causes it lunge.

My brother got his car back and they feel they have fixed it. It didn't happen when he drove it after delivery, so I hope they are right.
Ultimately they said the problem was in his drive train. Apparently there is some kind of slip lock on the drive shaft where one end of the drive shaft fits into the other end. His was sticking and when it eventually let loose, he'd hear and feel the clunk.
