Couple 2011 GLK issues

Hi there, got my 2011 few weeks ago, with 60000km on the clock. Car is nicely built, but I'm having problem adapting to the "heavy" steering wheel, I feel like I'm wrestling all the time (my arms aren't that weak, and it really is harder to make turns comparing to my ex-BMW) - is this something that can be adjusted by the dealer?

Also there is the annoying and very noticeable, high-pitch "hissing" sound from the fan blower no matter what speed the fan is set to operate - any of you also have this? and cure?

Thanks all.

I think that's the first I've heard of someone saying the steering was heavy in the GLK. Perhaps have that checked out. Pump maybe?

As for the hissing sound, that might be a misaligned filter in the ventilation system. When I changed mine I didn't have it seated just right and it would hiss too like air was going through a small gap somewhere. I readjusted the filter to fit properly and it went away. Just a guess. Your issue might be something else.

Steering is not paper light like on many cars, but you should not be struggling to turn. One thing to note, it doesn't self center well, i. e. You have to unwind the steering wheel as opposed to just letting spin in the opposite direction.

Thanks guys. Booked an appointment to have the steering checked. Will also try to check the cabin filter when weather gets warmer. :-)

Just to chime in, I've had a 2011 since new and have not experienced either issue; good luck with your service!
