Need M-B Cross Bar Replacement Part! Thoughts??

I just acquired M-B cross bars for my GLK, the guy I got them from didn't realize the black plastic end piece was missing on one end so he gave them to me.

I've included photos of the part that is missing and what it should look like.

Does anyone:

(a) have one of these that is inoperable or is otherwise able to sell me this piece?
(b) know where I can find a replacement part? I'd prefer the branded M-B (logo) piece to match the other 3 sides. Dealership does not sell any parts ... figures.

Thanks!

Go to dealership and find out who(what company) produces this for MB and contact them. You may have to speak with several dealers before finding one that will actually care to help....
good luck

Good advice. I'm almost positive it's made by Thule. I might try to go by some local Thule vendors today. They most likely won't have the M-B logo version but I can get over that.

The part you're missing includes a lock. You'd need a set of 4 to have the same key, otherwise you'd be going around with 2 keys. Ebay would probably be the best place.

It also looks like you're missing the rubber strip inserts into the opening on top of the bars. Makes stuff not slide around too much.

Locks are easy to re-key...

Thanks everyone. This is proving challenging. Drove around to REI, Dicks and 2 other rack shops around the Denver metro area. Called all M-B dealers. No dice. I'll call Thule directly tomorrow and see how far I can get.

Seems crazy one can't obtain replacement parts for this. A waste of perfectly good cross bars.

After exhausting every avenue from local stores (REI, etc) to Thule USA, Thule Europe and Mercedes-Benz USA, I've learned that replacement parts are not available, from anyone, anywhere, period.

My only option is to purchase a new set. M-B has offered to credit me $125 towards them. Combined with a very timely coupon I received from my dealer (25% off any parts), this will only cost me about $125+tax. I'll have spare parts now, too, which is evidently quite the commodity!
