2010 Headlamp Question and MODs
Also…
I would like to replace the fogs and add aftermarket DRL's from ebay.

Thinking about also installing running boards also from ebay.

I've also been thinking about changing the interior lights to LED and the license plate lights but not sure if I'd get faults or anything of that sort.
Please educate me, I know very little about lights and wiring ect..
What are some MODS or Customizations you have done to your GLK? Post below!
Regards, Erik
As for running board, it's fairly straight forward to install.
Just remove the old one and bolt on new running boards.
It took me roughly about 2 hours, at easy pace.
Interior lights are fairly easy too, just be sure to buy a CANBUS type led bulbs or the lights stay dim when you're driving or stay dim after you lock your car for a long time.
As for license plate lights , I haven't change them so I can't comment on that.
License plate bulbs are easy, and you just need to get CANBUS t10 LEDs. As for the interior, it's the same story. I swapped all of mine on my C300 and GLK too and they were identical for overhead lights.
You'll get an error on the DRLs without getting load resistors ("error cancellers"). The swap has been done, and some of them are very plug and play. You just lose your actual fog light function.

Are you able to stand on running boards without a problem?
Also, how many wats do the Load Resistors have to be in order for it to operate correctly?

It will be handy if you are going to load/unload stuff from the roof.
It's perfect for little kids, like 5 years old son.
For me, I like the look of it and hopefully it will protect some door dings from other cars.
It makes getting in and out of the car a little harder and soil your pants in winter time.

Time-wise, doing the interior lights takes all of 5 minutes. Use a panel popper or screwdriver and pull just the clear plastic down, pull out the old bulb (might be hot) and stick in the new one. If it doesn't light up, flip the bulb around and plug it back in again. Done. If you have the lights on the doors or under the dash, they all pop out easily as well. I had all of them, including the cargo area on the GLK replaced in a couple of minutes.
The factory W5WB bulbs draw 5 watts (or REALLY close like 4.8W), but if you search for CANBUS W5WB lights it should pull up LEDs with the right resistors already embedded in the chip.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
So I'd use the CANBUS W5WB for all the interior and the license plates are CANBUS t10?

MORIMOTO HD LOAD RESISTORS
These are a total of 50W, so pairing them with any LEDs that draw 0-20W that should do the trick. If the LEDs draw more than 25W I would look for another solution. I'm happy to help find the right ones if you know what current the ones you want to install draw. Good luck.
