COMMAND Upgrade 2011 to 2014?

With my 2011 in for service, I'm driving a 2014 loaner GLK with the COMMAND system, and the maps are a huge improvement over the crappy system in my 2011 GLK with COMMAND.

Is it possible to upgrade the 2011 system to look like the 2014 with just some software updates, or is it a completely different system?

In case anyone is wondering what the difference is, here is a sample... Which one would you prefer if you had to find a particular street?

The one on the left screen will be on the 2013 map update version of your GLK.

Yup! Plus some other really nice features, like the name of each cross street coming up on the street as I approach it...

I think what shotgun_banjo was saying is that with a new navigation update your 2011 map will have those street names appear.

When I updated my 2011 map software to the newest version available about 1 year ago I was very happy with the subtle but noticeable changes -- more street names listed being my favorite as I'm a Realtor. The update does not add info on the upcoming street name at the top of the screen as you mentioned. I believe that portion is part of the 2013+ model years' system.

Yeah, that would be great!

Well that's too bad that the cross-street name will not show up. So I assume I shouldn't hope for bluetooth audio streaming to start working all of a sudden either?
