Not sure what you are talking about... I bought my 2014 GLK 250 brand new from Downtown Mercedes in Toronto and it has distronic. Works amazing. I custom ordered the car from them, it was built in Germany for me.

I would have liked footwell lighting when the door is opened. Other than that the car is perfect.

Do an eBay search. There are a number of options in this respect.

Here is what I want:

Soft close door, not just the rear gate.

Audio 20 being able to display non-latin characters. (I have been at the dealership like 6 times and they still tell me it is impossible. The engineering menu shows me it is just having the font built in. Command with Nav can show non-latin characters. FML)

Surround view that is on the custom order sheet on the dealer computers.

I have a fully AMG body kit, with pretty much everything except NAV, I live on an island, and I pretty much know all the roads... and the Active lane keep thing.

airmatic would be good too, and of course I want carplay ASAP.

I think its the Dealers in USA/Canada wont 'install" MULTI_LANGUAGE option when they do update.

>>> for me " bigger diesel engine" perhaps 2.5 turbo would be ideal for that Body-size vs weight ratio !!!

Traction is a function of tires, inflation, gear ratio, weight distribution and others. The best tires on the back of an unloaded 2WD pickup won't give much better traction than racing slicks. Lived my first 60 years in New England.
Big Pirellis, properly inflated, 15000 miles. Gets stuck on level, wet grass.

Yeah, I read where you posted that elsewhere.

Maybe a set of mud tires..?

Well, yes. But that doesn't reasonably describe a GLK.

What kind of Pirellis?
The right tire will transform a vehicle, as you know.
EDIT: The P Zero doesn't have great hydroplaning ratings and isn't even rated for snow or ice, and Scorpion are terrible for snow and ice (I know you're talking about wet grass and off-road, but my experience is that snow and ice ratings tell you a lot about how a tire will perform off pavement, especially wet off pavement).

A street tire has a tough time off road. Wet grass can also be a very difficult thing to get traction on, unless your tire has knobs. I had a Jeep CJ7 with a rear locker get stuck on wet grass, until I spun the tires enough to cut down through the grass.
It seems to me this is a tire issue, not a vehicle issue. Think about dropping to 18 or 17 inch wheels, your tire choices open up a whole lot.

Yes it is Hawaii!

They have the files to flash the firmware to Chinese. If you go into your engineering menu on your Audio 20, you can see the font sections. There is Cyrillic in the font files, but no Chinese. The reason is very bureaucratic, and honestly I think they think I freaking wanna export my car to China to arbitrage the difference in price.

The files can be flashed, but it will activate some stuff like movie in motion (audio 20 cannot show video I think), or other crap that isn't legal in the USA.....

In fact, I don't even need the menu as Chinese, I just need Chinese fonts!

I'm stuck with a car that looks great, drives great, but can't see my contacts in Chinese or know what Chinese song it is playing back....fml (1st world problem)

Cooled seats! Has the blank places on the dash for the buttons but wasn't even an option. Wonder if there's a kit so I can install the fans and switches myself?

Go through this forum and read my threads in particular. It can be done -- I've done it. We are having a snafu with the passenger seat now as to the airbag, but we're working on that.
