Anyone Considering the GLA?

My 2013 GLK350 Lease ends at the end of this year. I was looking forward to leasing another GLK, but then saw the GLA. Similarly equiped, it's $10K less than the GLA, and me living in NYC it would be a great fit. I have a Thule Roof Box that I use for road trips with the GLK, so I don't think storage space would be a problem.

I'll test drive as soon as it's in stock.

I'm intrigued, but the lack of push-button start is a dealbreaker for me. I'm shocked keyless go is not an option.

I didn't notice no Keyless Go, that might be a dealbreaker...

Keyless-Go is listed as a standalone feature under the Optional Features tab for $650

I thought about the GLA45 but still haven't seen any in person, and i honestly like how the GLK looks/size more but i wish it would come with an AMG engine.

Is this on the MBUSA site? For some reason I don't see anything.

Yes, right on MBUSA.com

I should've said under "Comfort & Convenience" -

Don't love the nav screen in the GLA; looks like an add-on.

355 HP sounds nice, tho...

Was looking at a new suv type car for the wife. I looked into the GLA250 and actually think it fits our budget and has everything she needs.

I'm considering the GLA 45 AMG, but will probably go with a Golf VII R as I think it's going to be hard to beat for the money.

If the GLA is like the CLA it's too small, has fwd, and the materials are not up to the standard that I would expect from MB.

But that's my opinion

The GLA has 4Matic standard in North America. There is a FWD version in other markets.

I was looking at getting a small SUV for the wife. Was looking at GLA but looking at discounts dealers are giving on the GLK, it makes more sense to get the GLK, which is bigger and has a less complex engine (although older design).

Given GLA is likely to start in the low $30k range, and not likely and significant discounts for the foreseeable future, and seeing how MB is heavily discounting the GLK. I've known folks that got a brand new base GLK350 for $30k to $31k which is directly in the GLA price range.

remember though if they're getting GLKs for low low thirties then they are probably basic with very few options.

Absolutely, which is the same as a GLA starting in the low 30's, basic with very few options.

The GLA45 will be in the $60K range while the R will be ~$45K.

Not sure if you've seen this yet - http://blog.revotechnik.com/revo-mk7-golf-r-stage-1-beta-12-1-second-14-mile/.

Pretty insane for just a stage 1 ECU tune. Likely quicker than the GLA45.

Keyless Go is ONLY an option on the GLA45 AMG.

Not per MBUSA's website....that screenshot was taken under the GLA250 page, not the GLA45.

But of course nothing is 100% until you can actually build one with the configurator. And even then there still could be errors.

Good deal. I think I was basing my info off the CLA, which does not offer keyless go. Still sad no heated steering wheel.

You can now Build a GLA but I didn't see Keyless-Go as an option anywhere.

Yes, I did see that! Pretty crazy to think with a stage 1 software upgrade that a $40k hatchback can run a low 12 second 1/4 mile and 0-60 in 3.7 seconds.

I got the dealer order guide from my dealer. Keyless Go is an option for December Production, which coinsides with the AMG GLA45. If you want a GLA in September, no Keyless Go option.
