Jumped Ship, Too

Although I had a flawless one-year (25K miles) relationship with my GLK250, I have replaced it with a Ram 1500 EcoDiesel. The GLK was my first diesel, so I can blame it on getting me hooked on the power and efficiency of diesel.

Just wanted to tell everyone that I really enjoyed being part of this online community and appreciate all of your comments, opinions and posts.

I'm still getting used to the size of the truck. It's a battleship compared to the GLK, but I'm loving the room, capabilities and versitility. In just two short weeks, I've put 2000 miles on it and averaging around 27mpg. That's about 8-10mpg less than the GLK, but I knew that going in.

If anyone is in the market for a used GLK250, check out Marion CDJR in Marion, NC. Ask for Ms. Billie Helms and tell her Mike F. sent you. (no affiliation, but they might give me so sort of prize!)

Wow, you gave up a pretty one for the Ram. Looks like it has Premium Pkg., Appearance Pkg., Lighting Pkg. & who knows what else is hidden inside. Maybe hitch too? It is unfortunate that dealerships (incl. MB dealerships) do not list the actual option pkgs. in their ads to facilitate customers. Enjoy the Ram!

Rascally,

Not sure if you looked in the right place. My GLK is a base model. Heated seats, Map Pilot wiring, Pebble gray w/ beige MB tex.

Yes, they don't even mention that it is a diesel or can get 35+ mpg.

Yup, evidently not yours! Went to the dealership website & only had the one I described in Mars Red. Yours has not been added to their website evidently.

That's it. They are just using a photo from who knows where. You'd think that in two weeks they could take a picture of the actual vehicle and post on their own web page.

Sounds or should be illegal, almost as bad as bait & switch on new cars where you have a bare bones model on the lot to get people to show up & then bump them to something else!

Stock photos are used quite often by dealerships and there's nothing wrong (and certainly not illegal) with doing so as long as it's made known that they are stock photos or otherwise are not photos of the actual vehicle. In this case, there is a watermark right on the photo that says "Stock Image."

It would have been nice if they had used a stock photo of a post-facelift GLK, though, since it's a 2013.

Have fun with the Dodge. You will miss parking in normal parking spots and the scrappyness of a small vehicle. I'm thinking of a diesel truck too but I'm keeping the GLK350.

2014 Mercedes GLK 250 - Polar White
I was considering the Ram Diesel and the 2015 F150 when I bought my GLK250. I thought I was going to get kicked out of the garage with the addition of a new baby and needing more room to open my wife's car doors.

Turns out that the GLK250 and my wife's Ford Explorer fit reasonably well so I chose against the truck. If I was going to be parking outside I would probably have or be looking at a truck just because I really liked the utility.

The dealership finally put the price up on my old GLK250. It's priced very competitively at $27,995. Just thought I'd give it a bump, in case anyone might be interested.

Wow, that is a good price. I am surprised that yours is not more heavily optioned. Most of the 2013 GLK250 that I have seen have more bells & whistles on them.

I was surprised at the price, as well. I don't think they are doing anything to market or advertise it. But, it's now their car to do as they please with it. I've mentioned it to a co-worker, but he won't spend any money, much less buy a Mercedes!

I'll be happy to answer any questions about it, if anyone has any, but there is nothing to tell. 25k flawless miles! Has had front and rear mud flaps on there since new., too.

WOW, that's a whopping $10K lower asking price compare to the one I just traded in on 7/1. My car was similarly equipped with an MSRP of $44.6K, but w/ much lower miles, at just over 9,600.

The dealership put it up for sale on 7/5 or so, and it was sold two days ago.

I'm sure they didn't get the full $37,995 asking price but still, I was surprised how fast that thing was sold. Then again, it was in flawless condition, practically brand new.
