Rotors/Pads Recomendations?
What do people replace their rotors/pads with?
My OEM stuff lasted 55k miles, but the sensor went off so will be replacing them soon.

Just did same job....since pistons working OK, It was like any other brake job...4 bolts each wheel, small screw on rotor...had to buy 18mm E socket for 2 of the bolts, got OEMs from autohauzaz...since I had few complaints, I went with originals...use Maguire's brake dust sealant.
BTW...youtube has a DIY video glk350 brake replacement.

Leaning towards OEM. I never had squeal or dust issues and they are pretty cheap. ESC Tuning has front rotors for 170 a pair and front pads for 70.
Slotted rotors sounds good, but seems like an overkill for this car, and I don't know how well they last in SUV application over 5-6 years in salt/water/dirt etc.
SS lines don't last as long as rubber ones from what I read.
Cyndyclk, thanks for reference to 18mm E socket. I recall seeing that some bolts are different and had no idea what's called.

I wasn't sure your year and a few other details about your GLK so I just took a stab at it. We have options that you can check out here for brakes.
If that isn't the right year, etc, just start the search again from here.

Stick to OEM. Cheapest alternative and unless you're doing very aggressive driving there is no need to upgrade.

Rail dust from railroads and brakes - our saga
Regarding stock pads, the MB district rep said that the iron dust from the pads is part of the Pre-Safe system and we would just have to live with getting the measles. If that munchkin thinks we are going to detail the car every 3 months using IronX on our polar white car every 3 months on our dime we are going to return the car under the lemon law.
His is not the right answer. The design shows a total lack of systems engineering.
The dealership had a white 2015 E63 AMG wagon that also had the measles but the owner hadn't noticed it. This problem is not confined to GLKs....

55K? I had to replace F&Rs at 22.5K and I don't drive that aggressively!
FWIW I got pads & rotors off eBay for about $250 and they work great.
The OEMs made lots of noise but 2500 miles later these have been quiet and stop easily as well.
Don't forget to flush your brake fluid if it's been more than two years...
