It's is here and almost undisguised...
The new GLC is OK but uninspiring. It will probably have more bells and whistles inside along with the tech MB loves to load their cars up with. But in my eyes it lost it's rugged charms, compact hunched placement on the road and looks generic Korean now. It may be wonderful to drive , to be fair but the GLA looks better in my eyes.

Here's what I don't get. Mercedes has done a decent job redesigning their lineup across the world for a more unified styling brush. They took risks design the new A Class in Europe, the new worldwide GLA hatchback/SUV with a sportier style than the competition. Their new lineup of sedans and wagons are getting journalists excited again but the well designed, and massively successful GLK feels like a let down. Yes the interior will all make us jealous, but externally it just feels blah. I know it's a two box basic shape like all SUV's but the details are what make the difference. It no longer appears to hug it's tires and look surefooted anymore. It appears to float on it's chassis like every Hyundai SUV ever created. There is to my eye a disconnect between the car and the ground as if a new flashy body was dropped on a truck chassis but it did not fit perfectly. The side sculpting makes it appear bulbous and like it just had one too many pasta helpings...yet it remains top heavy in appearance. I think they will need to add deeper, lowered rear and front under bumper mouldings with some darker colours/black maybe to bring an athletic look back to it. It all cosmetic but this counts to buyers as much as engines, mileage and warranties.

I'd be walking all over a parking lot pushing the remote to see which one of the clones beeped.
Back of the side window is ugly. No one seems to be able to get that right, except of course GLK. The window should follow the roof line, not be a curve that doesn't match anything, except a Nissan.

Original GLK was somewhat rugged looking, updated GLK a little bit less but still good looking and now this... Similar thing with the interior - original was okay, updated GLK a bit classier and from what I saw in the video the GLK replacement looks "posh." Where does it end? Who is no longer going to mind getting the inside or outside dirty or scuffed? It now looks like it's strictly a people carryier - and people with clean clothes, at that.
A baby G-Class would be a nice option if the price were not outrageous.
GLC looks like a comfy living room on wheels. Might as well drop the 4Matic and just give it front wheel drive...

Just watched the premier video.
Here's what I don't get....when I see the artists sketches as well as the closeups of the GLC in the promo video, the car looks great. I want one! But when you step back and look at the vehicle as a whole, whether it's side profile or front/back...well, something is off. Two words to describe it--wacko tobacco!

Although it visually compares to the competitive herd, its design is meant to unify with the rest of MB line up... which I personally like. I like the new look; it's not comparable to the current GLK.

Definitely up-market, a continuation of the refresh started with the 2013 models, especially as to the interior. How many 2010-2015 GLK have you seen with the optional leather? Few & far between imo!
