GLK cargo tie downs

we got the 2015 GLK350.
We plan to carry 2 bikes in the cargo area.

We got the cargo floor liner covering both the cargo & 2nd row seat back.

I am unable to find suitable cargo tie down, snap on cables and cover for 1st row seat back covers?

Thank you for your suggestions.

Not sure what kind of bikes are you carrying but if it's a road bike, I don't think it will fit. You have to have a rear bike carrier or a roof crossbar bike carrier.

it will be road cruisers. We wish to trek the San Francisco Bay Trails. The bikes will have front wheel quick release.

Tried rear bike carriers & roof racks. But like stows inside cargo area best.

The GLK seems too small for two road cruisers. Are they miniature sized? When I used to live in Korea, many of my friends used https://www.seasucker.com/shop/talon...ge/bike-racks/ . There were also copy cat brands locally that were a bit more creative, but didn't trust their reliability long term. I don't think you will find any straps to mount the bikes in or to the 2nd row. Maybe strap them to the head rests from the folded 2nd row seats? That would be a best bet since they are heavy enough to hold down the front end. Good luck

I got the GLK custom fitted cargo floor liner covering up to back of second row seats at Amazon. It works nicely.

Now I search for tie downs to strap the bikes down.

Can't you use simple rubber straps with hooks on both ends? You can wrap it around the frame and attach the hooks on the folded down second row headrest prongs.

I am surprise with all the hooks and anchors, they do not offer any customized snap on tie downs in the cargo areas?

I think the type of people who buy this vehicle are mostly using it for daily commuters. The Utility aspect is seldomly used. Also my experience in owning other brands of SUVs they also lack places to tie down things in the cargo area near or around the second row.

Go to a motorcycle shop and get a few ancra tie downs. They are cheap, Easy to use. And are handy for many things around the garage. They are only an inch wide and will go from it's full length all the way down to perhaps one foot.

ANY motorcycle shop can get those ancra straps. In fact, Most carry them as a standard on the shelf item. I believe Walmart carries them as well. (auto section) Those straps are what we bikers use to tie down our motorcycles on a trailer. So rest assured. They are strong and easy to use.

^^Agreed, I bought a set from Walmart and they are available most anywhere Auto Zone, O'Riley's, Pep-Boys, Target, and so on. Since you're securing the bikes in the vehicle you could probably use what Inyoury suggested as well unless you really want make sure they are completely immobile. They are also a little easier to deal with.

Below is what I have from Walmart. I have transported a Kayak at highway speeds 50 miles with just these holding it to the roof rack.

+1 on the Ancra tie downs. They hold our two mountain bikes (with the front wheels & seats removed) inside our GLK.
