Stuck on "Initializing Navigation..."

Stuck on "Initializing Navigation..."
Stuck on "Initializing Navigation, Please Wait"
My nav screen has this "Initializing Navigation, Please Wait" message. I have tried to leave this on this mode when I am driving so that it would "initialize" but nothing happens. I left the car ON at home overnight to see if initialize.. again with nothing happening. Just an FYI - hardly use the navigation at all (in fact, have not used in in months). When I thought of using it, that message would show.*
What do I do?*

You could try pulling the fuse, overnight, that powers that portion. Simpler, and possibly more effective, to disconnect the battery overnight. You'll probably lose some settings here and there (seat memory etc.). That's a good thing to try because next step, if needed, will probably be taking it to the dealer.

You said you hardly use it? Did you buy it used. The disc image must be missing if so.
