2012 License Plate Light cover

Hey Guys,

I tried searching but couldn't find a result.

I was trying to replace my license plate light last night on my 2012 GLK. At surface, it looks pretty easy. There is a plastic clip that you unhook from the black housing and it should come off.

However, after unclipping the clear plastic clip, I can't get it to open up for the life of me on both lights. Am I doing something wrong?

Is the entire black housing suppose to come off or just the clear plastic cover? I don't want to end up breaking something.

Thanks,
Wayne

i did mine without going from the back, the front plastic lights just clip in and i use a flat head to move the tab and just pull the cover off.

I'm not going from the back.

I did exactly what you did, but i can't get seem to pull the cover off? When the cover comes off, does the whole black housing come off with it? Or is it just the clear plastic cover that comes off?

Thanks.
