What is a B5 service?
The display on my wife's car (late production 2013 350 GLK 4x4) with 35k Miles just came up with "B5 service within 30 days."
She basically has a 2014 model as far as the engine and transmission goes. I changed the single engine air filter myself this past summer.
I looked at the updated MB Maintenance Manual online and it does not have this service.
1. Can anyone explain this "B5 service" to me? What is performed and how expensive is it?
2. Since she has not had the 4yr 40k miles transmission service is this a good time to do it? Can we wait to this spring when she will have the 40k miles?
BTW The Dealer service writer keeps telling me that the transmission service is at 70k Miles.

I just called a random dealer. They said it would cost $650 and include the items that Plutoe stated.
I asked what the "5" meant and she said "That is for the technician." I could not get her to tell me what it was.
Mystery continues.

The transmission service is 70k miles on a 2013 if you have the M276 engine and 7G Tronic Plus. If you are in the U.S. and have a 2013-2015 GLK 350, that is the case for you.

Service interval for xmission the ROA? Glynn help!
(I refused to be a victim of NA intervals - or lack of same - with our 5 speed transmissions.)

I only know about service intervals for engine/trans combos sold in the U.S. In the U.S., the old 7G Tronic was 39k intervals, the updated 7G Plus has totally different fluid and new internals, hence the longer time between service.
Of course, it can't hurt to get it serviced sooner if you want. Just make sure an MB specialist or dealer does it, because it seriously MUST have the correct fluid.

Oil pan
I don't know what that means. Before we took a vacation that included driving 5000 miles in the GLk which was at 20,000 miles I decided to get the trains oil changed ID parts.had The transmission service kit oil pan bolts and the oil but looking into it I found you needed to drain the torque converter and on the Mercedes do not reuse bolts or plugs once so I went to the dealer and while I was there getting a five dollar part I was told that there was a service bulletin for my 2014 GLk250 for deeper oil pan and overflow tube just lucky I guess I got all the parts together and took it to a place that does nothing but Mercedes and described in detail how they change it and it coincided with what my research found. I'm at 28k I've changed engine air 2x. The fuel once. I confess I do have a lift which almost makes it fun.
