2012 GLK roof panel glass shattered
Went to clean windshield and noticed glass panel right above windshield on top of roof was cracked and shattered in several places. Nothing hit it and sunroof panels are Ok. I see this is problem (sunroof panels) on many cars. Anyone had this happen and was Mercedes willing to fix? Thinking it is from temperature difference from inside to outside? I only have 16K on car and always garaged.

Glass update
Just google shattered glass sunroof and there are other GLK and many Mercedes who have had the same problem. Apparently Mercedes will not take responsibility. I am thinking my insurance glass coverage will take care of it. I used black duct tape to cover the glass and keep it intact. There was no impact that caused it.

I had this happen on a Kia Sorrento. I was driving up a hill in the mountains in CO, and my sunroof exploded outwards/up. Kia wouldn't do anything. They claimed something must have hit the roof or the glass must have been weakened by previous dings in the roof. I had to have my insurance fix it and paid the deductible.

Hi All,
My A Class Panoramic sunroof shattered on its own last weekend and this was taken into Mercedes Brentford repair shop. Lucky enough I managed to caught this on CCTV (see below twitter link) but Mercedes today have come to me and said its not covered under warranty so I have to pay for the repairs. They expect me to pay for something that shouldn't happen on cars in the FIRST PLACE! Now they have left me with no courtesy car so I have no way to travel to work. Has anyone managed to sort theirs out with Mercedes? What should I do if Mercedes are not taking responsibility for it?
