glk350 broken parking light socket internal ring
Any good & simple ideas on how to fix a broken parking light internal socket ring on an x204?
I thought about just cutting a small part out of it or breaking it so I can get the ring out of the housing first, then
either taking the wires off of it and directly attaching them to the bulb socket stem contacts. Yeah,
it will not lock into place as intended, but I can affix it outside the housing at or around the thumb
plate of the bulb stem. I cannot believe the horribly designed and cheaply made headlight assembly.
I guess it goes right along with all the other cheap plastic crap on the car.
Any other suggestions, besides dropping $400 on a new badly besigned and cheaply made plastic headlight assembly?
Your ideas are very much appreciated, thank you.

Couple ideas, yes you could just solder wires to the end of the bulb. They last long enough you should be good for years. Another would be to look for a similar replacemnt type socket at an auto parts store then remove enough material from ther socket area so you can just epoxy the new base in the right area. It's a little MacGyver but should be good for years too.
