You guys up North have the cold experience, when it gets cold do your Nav screens turn purple until the car gets warm?

Did you bring it in and the dealer told you it was normal.. If they did get it in writing. Then send it to MB headquarters.

Yes, saw it last winter. A couple of nights it got to -40C or colder and my screen on my 2010 was purple until it warmed up.

Thanks for the info. It works fine just tends to shade to a purple tinge until it warms up like n8nu said. Seems to be getting more prevalent. With 90,000 miles on the 2010, it is way out of warranty.

I've had the issue of it not working when it was extremely cold. Can't remember what message came up but back to normal after it was a bit warmer

How much could they charge to replace it? Couple hundred?

My old CLK did that, in 90 degree Weather

My old 2007 CLK with command did the same thing. Except in Warm weather. If I tapped the bezel around the command screen it would revert back to normal.

Sometimes it would go back and forth all by itself. I wasn't sure whether it was a bad battery causing some electrical gremlins or the screen going out. I ended up trading in the car before I found out.

Below is a photograph of what the purple screen look like

I used to have that problem on some monitors when the connector in the back had one of the leads in the cable go high resistance. on me. My money is on one of the wires in the connector being right on the edge with the cold weather shrinking stuff - like copper as it does causing a connection to go high.
