Custom subwoofer for GLK 350
Sadly, I will be parting with my 2013 GLK 350 this weekend. It's been a great run, but I need a larger vehicle and will trading it in. I am selling the custom fiberglass subwoofer enclosure I had added in the hatch a few years ago when I upgraded the sound system. I will also sell the subwoofer and amp that goes with the enclosure. This is for local purchase only (Denver, Boulder, Colorado Sprints, Fort Collins, etc), as the cost to ship is too great, and the risk of damage to the enclosure too high.
The best part about this enclosure is that is requires NO cutting of any panels to install. You just have to remove one piece of trim and it fits. It intrudes a few inches into the cabin, but you still have access to the storage area/spare tire. The photos show how it looks with the subwoofer installed - it almost looks OEM and barely takes up any space, but you get great sound of the subwoofer without a clunky box taking up precious space in the back. It took me about 30 minutes to take everything out. Everything works perfectly and is in excellent condition.
Here's the gear:
Alpine PDX M6 digital amplifier - sells for $300 on Crutchfield
JL Audio 10W3V3 subwoofer - sells for $270 on Crutchfield
Fiberglass enclosure - $700 for fabrication/installation
I will sell the box on its own for $300, $350 for the box and subwoofer together (recommended, since the box is already drilled for this sub), and for everything, $400 (this amp is a perfect match for the sub, and since it's digital, it doesn't get hot and therefore is just fine in the fender area).
Please let me know if you're interested via PM, or if you have general questions, leave a comment. Thanks!
Installed sub, with the undamaged trip piece that needs to be removed to accomodate the enclosure. The 12 volt receptacle was relocated to the other side of the hatch behind a trim piece.
The sub and amp. The amp is mounted to a piece of MDF for mounting to some sheet metal behind the enclosure.
Here's my car looks less than 45 minutes after I started taking everything out. The trim piece is back where it belongs and so is the 12 volt receptacle. No damage at all to the car or any trace this ever had a subwoofer enclosure in it.

All I hear are crickets...no one wants a prefab subwoofer enclosure for the GLK? When I was active on this forum there were hundreds of people looking for away to upgrade their audio system.

I apologize...I never saw your post. Yeah, it is worth it, but you need to uphrade the front speakers and amplify them...I used a brick-sized amp that tucked under the dash (Alpine KRP-445U). I had a shop do mine, but at least for the front doors, replacing the speakers is easy. The rear doors are another story, but I left those speakers alone anyway.
