mercedes w168 a160 75kw 2000
Had a motor mechanic come out, remove the top halves of my Zenith carburetors, cleaned out the upper parts and then removed the sludge and residues in the lower bowls of the carburetors. Reinstalled the upper halves and spent time trying to start the car. It started after about 10 minutes. Now the car starts wonderfully and I use premium unleaded fuel. You may need to remove the fuel tank and deep clean it and the fuel lines.
And secondly, you may want to hook up a vacuum gauge to the intake manifold to check for leakage. And then check the timing with an appropriate gauge.
Don't give up, be patient, and this car should be fine. Good German product and a good investment car.
