My power 2012 GLK 350 tailgate looks bent and is not closing
My GLK 350 power tailgate is not closing. The car was taken to the local mechanic to fix a flat tire and remove the spare and place it back in the trunk. after the tire was fixed, my wife tried to open the power tailgate but it did not open. when she got home, my 9 yr old boy pushed the tailgate open from the inside,, the tailgate opened when he pushed from the inside but when she tried to close the tailgate would not close. When I got home I tried to close the tailgate but it look misaligned to the right in other words the left side of the tailgate looks higher at the hinge, so the latch is off center and it does not close, it is off a good 1/4 inch. can anybody tell me what can cause a tailgate to be off center and not close? I have the exact same issue, please tell me you got it fixed and figured out what it was.
how much was the repair? Was it a bent hinge?
please respond if you get this.
