P5046 and P2081. Help

Hey everyone,

I just purchased a GLK250 2013 for my father. His life long wish was to own a Mercedes. When I went to view the vehicle there was a check engine light on P5046. The previous owner had it diagnosed and had the EGT replaced Bank 1. When we went for our test drive the light went away. When we picked up the vehicle it came back, I informed him and he said that his mechanic notified him that the vehicle would need to be driven a bit before it reset itself.

However even with a new part the vehicle is still throwing the same code it was when he had gotten it repaired, as I still have the receipts. I was thinking of taking the EGT sensors out and cleaning them. It is still cold out here in Ontario so hope to do it next week.

Sorry P0546

Also I am finding the vehicle is lacking power as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards
