thinking of buying a GLK...is this salt?

yes, i realize this may be a really stupid question...
i saw his on the engine and inside the hood.

not sure it should be a concern or not...

i wouldn't expect to see it on the engine cover.
i'm in new england and never saw salt inside like that

Might be an issue if that's the high water mark. Has the car been in a flood?

You can have it in those touchless car washes.

That looks like serious water damage probably rendering the truck devoid of value, but I will offer you $5 for it "AS IS."

J/K, it's nothing more than some road spray baked on.

i thought maybe it was baked on antifreeze on the plastic cover.

it wipes off from the metal on the hood and totally tastes like salt. (kidding)

a friend of mine believes it to be cleaning product.
it's on there pretty good.
i'll try to clean it.

i threw caution to the wind and bought the car!

It's either salt, soap residue or semen.
