Interchangeable?
Sorry for the stupid question. Since this is an X204, would some parts be interchangeable with a w204?
I have a w204 steering wheel that I need a column for but need it with a rear wiper control since I have a wagon.
Thanks in advance.

Might work, but you need first production.
W204 = electronic gear selector on center console (every year) or manual gear shift.
X204 = electronic gear selector on center console first half of production, then face lift on steering column. Manual transmission models still on center console obviously.

Thank you JohnnyC. Yes I do plan getting the facelift one from 13-15 where the gear selector is on the column.
I guess only only one way of finding out is thru trial and error.
Thanks again.

The column gear selector won't be able to communicate with the transmission. Because the transmission is internally known as a TRP (theft-related-part), coding it will be very difficult or may not be possible at all.

Well decide to bite bullet and just swap the chip and it worked!! I’ll keep my column since I can’t find one that matches all my options.
Thanks for everyone’s help!
