2010 GLK 350 Comand Screen Failure
Hi guys,
Just moved to Canada and bought one 2010 GL 550 and one 2010 GLK 350 for our family.
Unfortunately, the Comand screen of the GLK 350 failed some weeks after the purchase.
Initially, it started showing some bright horizontal lines on the screen and now its totally gone.
The Navigation radio and all the functions work as they should, only the screen is gone.
Any suggestions are more than welcome. I want to sort it out as cheap as possible and for this, I got the idea of trying to replace it myself.
I saw couple of videos on how to replace it and it seems fairly easy once I could find the right part.
When I did the search, I could find this display module:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/7-in...33e93c00X3C5RO
Than I did another search and found that the same module is much cheaper when it is branded for Citroen

In either case, I'm planning to order one and try installing it on my own. Before doing that, I would really appreciate if you have a better suggestion. I would certainly love an OEM look but I could still be OK with an Android upgrade, too. My maximum for this project is around 300$.
In terms of functionality, navigation, back up camera and Bluetooth integration is indispensable for us, so please keep this in your mind.
Huge thanks in advance!

Its a very small lcd screen with a very low resolution and reponse time.
All the rest is extremely overprices, so you would think that these are cheap.
A full hd 19`` monitor, fully assembled and delivered with all the bells and whistles cost around this much.
In my opinion, if I'm going to do all the work, the replacement screen should be around 25 dollars and not more.
The same screen costs double the money when its listed under Mercedes brand. The exact same screen from LG. This is ridiculous.
Anyway, I'm going to order this tonight and will keep you posted. I hate people or companies trying to screw you when they feel like they will have a shot at it as you are driving a Mercedes. I bought this one because it was WAY MORE CHEAPER and had WAY MORE COMFORT than Japanese alternatives.

UPDATE:
My screen arrived in 8 days from Aliexpress to Canada.
Looks identical and was perfectly protected.
Installed it back in 5 minutes and Voila!
PERFECT AND LOOKS BRAND NEW!
Less than $200 to install a brand new Comand screen!

That is the only thing I miss in this car, otherwise navigation etc is not required because google maps etc on the phone is more accurate for me.
Thanks for your sugestion on reverse camera installation.
