2010 GLK350
CEL with two codes, no symptoms.
Today my 2010 GLK check engine light came on. Ran the codes and got P2422 “evap emission system vent valve stuck closed” and P0128 “Coolant temp below regulating temperature”. I don’t understand how these would be related to each other in any way. I had the Takata recall fixed a few days ago and I have an undiagnosed squeak coming from my belt on first start of the day that last for five mins. Other than that I’m not experiencing any other symptoms. If anyone could provide any insight to this that would be awesome. Thank you

Your thermostat is old and is probably not staying closed enough to heat the motor fast, cold oil can sludge up. If the motor is running cold it would affect the PVC system and could sludge it up, I don’t know if that’s what happened . My 13 takes about 12 minutes to reach 90 at 0c - 32f outside in city driving . Look at your temp gauge and time it when you start it. If it’s running cold or takes a long time to reach 90c a thermostat and oil change is needed and probably the other code fixed. If your motor is warm in a garage it should take a lot less that 12 minutes to reach full temp. Oil needs to be over 175 -180 to cook out pollutants that cause oil to sludge up.
