GLK 250 Service Interval
Thanks
FWIW, I've stretched OCIs out to 12k-13k miles many times in the past. Currently at 101xxx miles and the engine runs beautifully, returns excellent fuel economy, always looks pristine under the oil cap, and doesn't need more than 0.5L topped off between changes.
Your mileage may vary, yada yada yada. All the best!
Of course, UOAs cost money. Might as well just do an oil change for the money

Point is, 10k miles is no biggie on modern diesel oils. Just keep the sump full and drive more worry less

and had anything been found, they'd have said as much. I don't think they implied the oil is still 100%, just that it's doing a good job at this interval and doesn't absolutely require changing just yet. With respect to the "when it's black and stinks it's old" comment: nonsense. Even brand new engine oil will look pitch black within hours when run in a diesel engine. This is because diesel-rated oil is designed to hold soot in suspension, as soot is an abrasive byproduct of diesel combustion. If you're seeing golden oil in a diesel engine, be afraid!
Also: noticing a power boost after an oil change is anecdotal at best, hardly a reason to cut the manufacturer's OCI in half. Feel free to change the oil as often as you'd like, it's your time and money. I've learned to go by the book on maintenance items like this, and so far it hasn't resulted in the demise of any of my previous 6 diesels (VWs and MBs). Your mileage may vary
