Options for lowering?
Options for lowering?
Many of you bought the GLK for the ride clearance and off-road capabilities, and there is nothing wrong with that. However, I got the GLK over the C-class because there is already a C in the garage and also because of the extra room in the GLK.
While the handling of the GLK is fine (great, in fact), I'd really like to see the wheel gap reduced. Not just one, but a family of gapinas can live in the space.
So has anyone tried lowering his GLK yet? And what are our feeling on the H&R lowering kit on Tirerack? Will that do the trick or is it really necessary to buy a full kit with matching shocks (that's what I did on my previous car, an A4, since just lowering with springs simply does not work)? Also, if lowered, will wider wheels/spacers/camber plates be required to return the car to its' proper stance?

veerodder, you're right.
both Brabus & Carlsson offer GLK tuning
pkgs. Of course these are proven to be the
best fit for MB cars without any modifying.

GLK 350 lowering
I was supposed to have my GLK lowered this week but was informed that the H&R kit is still on back order. I have decided to hold off on having this done until I hear from someone who has had it done. Hopefully soon, because I think it would add a lot to the appearance.
Well, I'm holding off till i hear of someone else who has it done. If super sports come out then i will pull the trigger, because sports are only 30mm, which really is not that much.

I have an update for H&R Sport Lowering Springs and their availability. I received this email today.
"H&R still shows these on backorder and not on the container that is currently enroute. They are suggesting that the springs may be on the container to follow, but that one is approx. 4 weeks away still."

Tom - do you have any pictures of GLKs with the springs installed? Also, would spacers and/or camber kits be required to maintain the proper stance?
For the rest - do any of us know how would modifying the suspension alter Agility Control? Maybe it is completely unrelated, I am just asking.
