Sirius SDARS module location

I am having some connection issues with my Sirius radio. After doing some research into people with similar problems, it seems I might also have a lose connection and the symptoms seem to back that up. Losing connection with Sirius over bumps, getting it back over another bump etc. It's progressively getting worse so I am looking to see if I can tackle this job and fix the possible loose connection. I am hoping to look at the SDARS module first before dropping the headliner as that seems like a complete headache. Have any of you been able to successfully locate the Sirius SDARS module? Have any of you remedied this problem on your own? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

This is my initial thought. I'd find a good Mercedes parts breakdown on the internet. I'd then search for the part that way hoping to find the location.

I had the problem in a W204 not an X204 and didn’t fix it myself. There is some sort of initialization procedure that I think is called “provisioning” and it involves both Mercedes and Sirius XM.

FWIW, before I'd replace a satellite receiver for this issue, I'd test the wiring as much as possible to rule that out. The issue could be as simple as a loose plug. If it's acting like the OP says (going on/off over bumps), there's a good chance that wiggling cables connected to the receiver might point out the issue. Just turn the car on, and start moving the cables attached to the module, and see if the issue is repeatable by moving one particular cable (or not). You can try tapping on the module itself, or even removing it (still connected) and see if vibrations or squeezing the case causes the issue to come and go. All of that will help you locate the true source of the issue if it's a mechanical intermittent problem (which it sounds like from the description)...

Sirius? Serious? The lowest quality of sound available, the bandwidth is terrible . Maybe for talk shows but not music . But I just spent 400$ on a Audison Bluetooth. (I don’t like it)

Seriously, the best option that MB has is the (optional) slot in the head unit for the PCMCIA card, that holds a Compact Flash memory chip. SO much easier to navigate than using a phone - I have mine sorted by music genre, artist, then album (plus a folder for audio books for road trips). Sound great, nothing wired into your dash to deal with, etc. I did a video on installing / configuring one (won't post it to keep this thread on point)...
