2010 GLK 350 power train interruption

I've got a 2010 GLK350 that recently started a "power train interruption". I bought the vehicle about a year ago with around 40k miles and it has about 48,000 miles now.

If you give it about 5% throttle application you don't notice any power train interruption. If you give it about 15% or more throttle it appears to misfire and "buck" or have a power train interruption. The idle RPM seems a bit erratic now and possibly a bit lower RPM than usual.

When going from neutral to drive or reverse there is a slight audible chatter from the engine compartment that you can hear in the driver's seat. This appears to be a new noise and sounds like it could be a fuel pump or similar possibly.

That said, I'm trying to assess whether it is a fuel misfire, an electrical misfire possibly, or even a transmission issue. Fuel filter need replacing maybe?

Anyone else been down this road or have any thoughts?

Yep, need to have the codes read for sure. No codes have come up on the instrument display panel yet though.

Hope I can make it on the expressway to service place with running like it is.

With low miles look to the simplest solution, bad gasoline , go get different gas and about 6 cans os gas line antifreeze, like Heat in red bottle , maybe you have water in the gas

With real old or bad gas I’ve needed a gallon of alcohol to make a car drive able , you won’t hurt the motor , just get Denatured Alcohol, sold at HD , hardware stores,

Thx, it gets driven often, its just not a high mileage vehicle.. The gasoline being used is 93 octane which supposedly is ethanol laced fuel.

The fuel level is down to about 1/4 tank full now, so good idea, will see if a fresh dose of new fuel makes any difference I've got a couple cans of Techron will add to the fuel also.

Interestly, my old BMW Z3 started acting up about the same time too. I doubt my old Model A Ford could tell the difference in the fuel though.

Neither the Mercedes GLK350 or the Z3 has thrown any codes yet, which makes me kinda think it could be "bad fuel" related, since both vehicles are fueled from the same local station.

Pure alcohol absorbs water and raises octane , you need to use a lot , at least a few quarts or the water will just sit at the bottom of your tank
