GLK power gate lift only goes up half way

My wife put something in the back that was too big to close the gate. I assume she tried to close it and didn't know to stop it and it hit the thing in the car.

Now, when it is opened (any method--key fob, door switch, or license plate switch), it only goes up about half way and stops. Neither the key nor the door switch will get it to go up further. However, if I press the license plate button, it will go up the rest of the way.

It goes down with no problem with any method.

So, first, any idea on what would cause the gate to stop at the same place? Meaning, what could have 'broken' to cause it to stop there? Is it DYI fixable?

Also, since I don't know how the logic works, it doesn't make sense why the license plate switch would allow the gate to raise rthe rest of the way while the other two won't.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Thanks,

Gordon

it’s not broken, it’s working as intended. you just need to reset where you want it to stop. there are multiple youtube videos out there showing how.

No worries. Mine stops way too high for my liking but haven’t reset it yet. It has something to do with the button on the top right of the tailgate that you press to have to lower.

Would appreciate an update if you get it adjusted!
