2014 GLK Climate Control Fan

The climate control fan in my 2014 GLK (65,000 miles) is barely blowing air. When I'm idling the fan doesn't seem to be running at all and the faster I'm driving, the faster the fan runs. Is this a battery issue as the owner's manual suggests? The car is starting normally. I don't use AUTO for the climate control and the ECO is switched off. Occasionally the fan works normally.
Thanks!

Without Auto on you need to control the fan manually. Are you saying you can't speed up or slow down the fan manually? Does the fan work in Auto mode correctly? These fans are notorious for going bad but are very easy to change and are not too costly on the internet.

I don’t use the Auto function and the fan doesn’t respond to being manually changed. I see after some more research it looks to be an easy replacement. I’ll take it out tonight and check the voltage to the fan.
Thanks!

Are you sure the fan runs at all? The reason I ask is that most current auto heat/air conditioning systems use a "flow-through" design that takes in outside air all the time. The faster you go, the harder the outside air is forced into your cabin. The blower may not be working at all.

Now, if you are stopped and hear the fan start up when you turn it on, then my point is no help.

I checked it tonight and measured 12V going in to the regulator and 0v at the fan output when the fan setting was maxed. Turned the car off and back on and then the fan worked. Measured 12V at the fan output and lower voltages as i turned down the speed of the fan. I checked it 4 more times this evening and of course the fan worked perfectly each time so I couldn't duplicate the results to double check the initial finding. I'm suspecting the regulator.
I assumed the air I felt while driving was just outside air flowing thru the system.
Any other thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks!

A gaggle of MB's
Well... either connections ... regulator (which did test bad once)... or intermittent brushes in the motor.

"Behr" brand China made replacements are "OK" - as compared to almost all other China/India sh*t parts,,

Today I drove it with the cover off and the motor was noisy off and on but ran the entire time. Maybe I’ll replace both parts as they’re not horribly expensive.
