Litigate problem
When I try to open the liftgate, I get some nasty clunky noises coming from the upper left of the liftgate, but the gate doesn’t open. Anyone had this problem, solutions? Is there any way I can open the gate manually?

You might find some help in this thread: Liftgate Problems
The struts on either side of the tailgate do most of the actual lifting. The motor is more for closing. If both of your struts are worn out, which is quite likely after 7+ years, the motor will struggle to open the tailgate. I just replaced my lift struts because the tailgate was still opening but slowly and it always clunked and dropped an inch or so from fully open.
You can open it manually.
