Installing new battery

2013 glk 350 4matic, do I need to keep 12v going to the vehicle to not loose any codes when changing the battery . I have the extra battery with Auto stop start. I saw a you tube video of a similar year but different model Mercedes and they said there is no issue disconnecting the battery.

No. I've done it hundreds of times without installing an external battery on both my 2013 and 2015 GLK350.

Ok thanks , I won’t worry now, My original 2013 battery still works fine but I tested it at 460 Cca and it’s usually 12,3v. I use a CTEK charger and the Restore function has boosted it a bit over the years. I never had a 7 yr old battery that functioned this well. But it won’t last.

Anyone know if the first gen GLK's (2009-2012) has the same characteristics of not losing any memory or triggering faults when changing battery? I'm about to change mine, but just want to plan ahead.

2012 GLK350. I didn't experience any lost memory settings when I had the battery replaced by MB Roadside, maybe it can be an issue if you don't have the replacement on-hand. BTW, MB now has 'lifetime replacement' warranty on their batteries.
