2015 glk 250 cold start rattle
Hi all,
First time MB owner and post. Just purchased 2015 glk 250 bluetec. 64k miles. Have a couple issue and haven't had much luck finding previous post about this issue.
-On cold start engine has slight rattle on passenger side of engine. Goes away in a few minutes or you bump throttle. Doesn't do it again all day.
-Also have a few very light clunks from stop to acceleration. If anyone has a most common suspension bushings that are due for replacement about this mileage please point me in the right direction.
Oil/filter changed with Ravenol 5w-30

2015 GLK 250 BlueTec with AMG Sport package.
For the rattling noise coming from the front of the engine passenger side, that's aluminum bypass valve rattling - there is Xentry sheet with this issue https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...36063-9999.pdf
Don't think Mercedes made it into a recall but there is an updated bypass valve made out of plastic. HOWEVER, it is sold as a part of the housing, not on its own so the cost, I think was around $200-$300CAD.
Here is a video of someone taking it apart and making a "fix" of their own. Gives you an idea where exactly that valve is:
I have the same noise on a cold start (MY2015 GLK250 110K kms), it goes away after 10 seconds or if the throttle is bumped. Doesn't bother me much, I'll be replacing it with an updated part later on.
Can't comment on bushings much, I don't have any clunks ... yet
