Question Oil drain bolt crush washer missing?

Hi. I'm new to Mercedes and I just purchased a GLK 350 recently. The place I bought it from had done the oil change 5k miles ago. I just changed the oil last night for the first time on the vehicle. As I was removing the oil drain bolt I did not see a crush washer O.o . I took the drain bolt out, cleaned it off, and nothing. Checked the oil pan thinking it was stuck to it and nothing. Checked my oil drain pan and nothing. I've done hundreds of oil changes on other vehicles so this isn't my first time changing oil but it is on a Mercedes. I was wondering if it was normal to not have a crush washer? All the other vehicles I've done always had one. There are no leaks from what I can see. The belly pan is nice and clean. Oil level before I changed the oil was good. So it left me scratching my head. Does anyone else run one without a washer? I will probably put one on there but just wanted to make sure its not a Mercedes thing to not have one. Thanks in advance.

My 2014 250 had a crush washer as does my 2015 350. You should have a crush washer.

I'm guessing the prior monkey wrench forgot it. Nothing surprising.

+1 for Iffy Lube "tech" probably losing it. You should probably get a replacement, but if you've already poured in the new oil and have no leaks I would say wait till next oil change?

I would also use this opportunity to advocate for top-side extractor oil change method. It would alleviate this problem in the future, plus make the job much simpler and cleaner overall.

My Bluetec is going strong at 122K miles having received almost all top-side changes (I did one bottom-side change when I did an engine flush about 60K miles ago), and most MB dealers use the top-side method nowadays.

I bought a quality oil extractor, on my 350 it leaves in a quart, I’ll sell it cheap ! And you can’t get crud at the bottom by extraction
