Problems with shifting 1st to 2nd gear
Hi,
I experience strange problem when starting from stop car moves but it feels like is stuck in 1st then after some seconds shifts up. After that runs smoothly and after some days it happened again.
I have GLK 4matic 2010 350cdi, 7 g tronic transmission.
Does anyone have any idea why this happened?

Maybe the valve body needs service, maybe the trans was not filled properly since the issue just started , have you seen a video of what it takes to fill the transmission? Look one up on YouTube, it’s filled through the drain hole while the motor is running up to an exact temperature. A pain in the a . I’m no trans pro or even real knowledgeable but I just had mine slip and drained new filter and refiled so I researched it, refilling fixed my slipping.

Thanks for the advice. Transmission was serviced at shop so I will go back to check. But I am out of town and was very confused why this happens. Also it happens for 2 times for 2 weeks. It is not regular issue. It happened after driving on highway and then on the first red light in the town car was only in first for some seconds and engine revving up. Second time was also when pulling off from red light.
I didn't notice any oil leakage since always park in same space.

Well I really hope it isn't the case, but If you just had it serviced and you are facing issues right away, the tranny was probably serviced incorrectly. Im guessing not enough fluid/ wrong fluid/ leak/ etc, and is probably damaged internally and will need to be replaced/repaired. This will be a VERY expansive problem most likely and I hope your shop is honest about it and fixes it.

I ordered the oil and filter from fcpeuro, 220$ for 10 Quarts , filter and plug, 10 quarts is what a full service drain and drain torque converter is for material only. That’s why I wonder what your mechanic did.

It was full oil change including the filter, gasket. It is supposed to be done professionally. I did not get issues yesterday transmission was shifting very smooth. I have read that there is solenoid for every gear, but I am not sure what are the symptoms if one is gone bad. If solenoid for 1st is faulty may be that's why is only 1st gear giving problems.

Maybe it’s one solenoid , you can look up you tube videos on it, I think it’s called cleaning the regulating valves, it’s not going to be a cheap job, I’d guess at least 1000 looking at the amount of work. I found a good video but don’t know how to include it.
