We recently purchased a 2010 GLK350. My last benz was a 1991 560SEL so bare with me...
it only has 87000kms on it and was used sparingly since 2015. It sat a lot in underground parking.
it has a Bosch s5 battery dated 9/14. Group 48 It load tests ok, but I'd you leave any lights on while parked for any longer than 20 minutes it wont start without a boost.
Should I replace with a group 48 (H6) or an H7? It has what looks like 2 position for the single hold down clamp and another 2 bolt hold down clamp at the end of the tray. It looks like the H7 will fit.
The battery in it is a vented lead with what looks like a factory vent hose, the lower end of the hose is broken off...
I am going to go with am AGM for sure, just wondering if I should up it to the h7?
also, should I replace the aux battery at the same time?

Why do you leave lights on 20 minutes? What was the load test for CCA?
6.5 years is old, I just put in a H7 AGM, the old battery load tested ok but CCA was about 420 so I didn’t think it would last the winter if it got to -10 /-20f. Mine was a 2013. Who you buy the battery from will tell you how big you can go.

I will battery shop in the am and see what is available. I know Costco has Energizer AGM but it is h6 for $199.
I was having "socially distanced" coffee with a few old guys, like me, in a parking lot. Interior lights on and off, I left the key in acc. Mode so radio stack was on just turned the volume dow. Nothing serious.
Also... I removed the panels to the right of the spare tire, and there is no aux battery there? Is itnlicated in another spot on a 2010? Or does it not have one?
Je viens tous juste de changer la batterie de mon GLK250 2014. Je l'ai acheté chez Costco. J'ai choisi AGM H6 car H7 agm n'est pas disponible chez Costco. Comme vous l'avez mentionné, j'ai acheté une prise pour bloquer la batterie en place car elle est plus petite que celle d'origine.

I'll check Costco, Canadian tire has H7 available locally for $250.
H6 vs h7, I live where it can get to -20f , so the biggest battery is just insurance it will start, and it depends on how long you plan to keep it, I just paid 325 for an interstate AGM
I was looking at replacing mine for the same reason (When I first read this I was like... did I post and forget?!) My local Costco only stocks non-AGM H7 Batteries When I shopped around the cheapest H7 AGM I could find was $350 and would take 4 weeks to show up. Ended up borrowing a battery conditioner and reconditioned it - so far so good, but I am paranoid about it dying on me.
@Josblos Dans hiver, avez-vous rencontré problèmes? Je suppose que tu es au Québec et le Québec a des grand hivers. J'abit au Columbia de Britanique. (Sorry, mon francais c'est terrible et ma femme qui parle francais c'est n'alle maison)

The Canadian Tire in Invermere has one for $254. Penticton also. I'm not sure where in the Interior you are. Most CT can get them quite quickly. Did you try Lorco? I know they can be a bit slow on ordering. My daughter lives in Golden and has had longish wait times for a motorcycle battery etc.
