Advice on this GLK250

Hey everyone, been doing lots of reading on this forum and all over the internet. I was looking to get advice from owners of the car. I've found this one I really like: https://www.mercedes-benz-westisland...k250-id8336103

However I have some concerns: here is the carfax https://vhr.carfax.ca/?id=Un3TjwXopW...istory-section

Should the two repairs and service record concern me?

Also I mostly ride a bicycle to work and to most places but need a car for errands and for "longer" drives of about 20-30 minutes to go play sports. I'd probably be taking the car on longer trips to go hiking and do road trips in the near future so hopefully that'll help with DPF issues. Anyways I'd love some advice.

That is one expensive used car. One would think with two separate accidents and requisite repairs that it would be selling for less than "premium" price.

The other items of concern is that they ended up replacing several emissions system components and suspension bits. I'd be really careful to have it inspected by a good independent Euro specialist.

I still can't get over that $23k! I know, it's Canuck dollars, but still...

Most here will tell you to steer clear of the Bluetec, especially as in the USA the Bluetecs are being recalled for massive emissions system issues. If you're set on a diesel, I'd suggest another brand. Or a gasser GLK.

Yikes, 10,882 for rear end damage; that's significant, not just a fender bender... for comparison, I got mine a few months back for $21,680 USD with 60,000 miles, an impeccable, detailed maintenance history, and no accidents (reported). Almost looks new. And after the emission mod, should get a few thousand back.

Thanks for the feedback guys, honestly shopping for a car is a headache. I've found this GLK250 now with no accidents on record but also ZERO maintenance record... https://www.megacentreparkavenue.com...-250-id8088105

I'm debating between this or just getting a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek which is in the same price range. (I know insurance and maintenance are much greater on the MB though)

Honestly, as much as I love our GLK250 and pretty much hate all Subarus... I'd say for peace of mind and reliability with GREAT traction in winter, you can't go wrong with the Crosstrek.

The maintenance will cost you less overall, the service costs will be far less, the insurance is much cheaper and you're likely to find one with far fewer miles than this GLK without any of the sensitive emissions issues that will just put you in limp home mode, that only a few people may know how to fix properly (notice I didn't say cheaply).

Plus it's white; it'll be dirty all the time.

With the headaches of the Bluetec -- and for someone who is not used to its quirks and special needs -- you will quickly fall out of love with it and have nothing but issues.

I shopped the XV Crosstrek with the GLK250. The performance/fuel economy of the GLK250 and its more usable interior had won me over. I have not had any major problems with the GLK in 70,000+ miles. I like its cruise range of over 450 miles, it means I only have to fill up twice a month at most. It's also been pretty good to drive in the snow and other more challenging conditions.
The dealer experience has not been very good, and I turned to performing a lot of the maintenance myself. I would not recommend the GLK250 unless you are also willing to do the work yourself, or have a trusted independent mechanic.
