Hoping you can help me out of this debacle. I removed the headlight assembly on the passenger side of my girlfriend's GLK last night and I heard something hit the skid plate. This had fallen out from I don't know where and I can't figure out where it goes for the life of me. It looks to be some kind of adjustment piece for aiming the headlight as there is a similar piece attached to the headlight itself.
Please let me know what and where this thing goes so I can button this car back up.
Looks like I am back in business. After some more thought on where it might go another careful re-watch of the disassembly video and I was luckily able to spot it. See below and good luck to you all:
Yes, it is definitely for aligning the up/down tilt of the light. There's another piece like it actually attached to the headlight unit itself on side closest to the grille. There's no positive connection to the metal so it can be an easy piece to fall out. Here's a pic of it from inside the engine bay, the screenshot I posted was from a blurry video.
