Post Hard to find a repair manual of my 2014 GLK250 bluetec

I just bought a 2014 GLK250 bluetec, which is really good, but I have to repair it a little bit, and I have enough of time just want to repair it on my own.

Now I have to change the 'knock sensor', but it's really hard for me to get a resource/manual telling me where it is located, some vid says it is under the intake manifold, some people says it is on the mount...

So I am just wondering if anyone here can tell me where it is and how to change it, or just share me the repair manual, or even the exploded view of the engine....

Thank you!

Diesels have knock sensors? (Not trying to be a smart a$$, but never heard of such a thing!) Do you mean NOx sensor? Here in the US those are all covered by the new recall/warranty.

Here is a response someone else gave me. I haven't tried it yet. It runs in a virtual machine, hence the required fiddling...

"MB never produced service manuals in print format for these later models. I downloaded EPC/WIS which are available on eBay and will cover your other late model MB as well. While not as advanced as the full suite of OEM software, it will cover nearly anything a DIY guy could reasonably do. I will caution you that the file size of the software is astounding and does require some minor fiddling to get it up and running."

You'd probably benefit from a subscription to WIS and a good scan tool. Here's the only schematic (Pic) I found that shows the knock sensor (labeled #150). Looks to be around $44.

What leads you to believe it is faulty?

Thank you! actually I am going to buy the car tomorrow, I just paid the deposit, I haven't checked the diagnosis report yet, my friend who is also the previous owner, she told me that might be the knock sensor problem, maybe she's not that clear so I have to figure out what happened on the car.

Well, I'll be d#%@ed! 55 years wrenching on Diesels and I've never seen that! Seems like it would always be active; Diesels just knock...

(I just got my GKL 2 weeks ago, so I haven't been very far in to it yet.)

That type of sensor (on gas engines, at least) just bolts to the side of the engine block to pick up the sharp vibrations caused by preignition and detonation.

Should be easy to change, assuming you can get your hands on it.

I think you need a better scan tool. That generic code could really be anything. A previous poster said it was related to a slight fuel filter leak subsequent to changing the fuel filter; nothing to do with a knock or NOx sensor.

You should try to find someone with a MB specific scan tool. People have reported being able to see MB specific codes using Carly for MB, or icarsoft MB2. You may be surprised.

lol, really hope the code would disappear when next morning comes.

Thanks to your reply, I just checked my car again with the same scanner I used last night, I just found another permanent code: P2201

So Now, it's two codes: P2201 (NOX sensor circuit range/performance) & P229F (unknown for the scanner)

Well, my car is 96000km, and 7 years old, maybe before I got the scanner you told me, I will try to follow this video
to clean my NOx sensor, or just replace another new NOx sensor, I will tell brothers here where I go next, lol

I just got an offer from that seller for 8.99 GBP. I jumped on it and it came out to $13.01USD with conversion charges. I'll let you know how it works out. MEanwhile, I suspect the seller would accept offers of 8.99 GBP.

I had some issues with the downloads at our summer camp, but the seller gave me an alternate download site that was faster and worked better, so I was able to complete things there (started at home, where I had no issues other then the amount of time it took). Total download was 34.9 GB.

The version of VMWare supplied was earlier than the one in the instructions, and everything worked fine. (This refers to the "minor fiddling" the guy who recommended it mentioned.). The only issue was a little confusion about unpacking the downloads. Turns out that unpacking the first file unpacks everything, but that wasn't clear, and last time I did something similar was years ago.

Now, all I have to do is figure out how to use it... (Searching isn't getting me what I expect, and I haven't figured out how to print or to share files outside the VMWare environment.)
