Latest map version?
Does anyone happen to know what the latest maps you can purchase for the GLK are? One site is telling me that 2015 was the last official update, another is saying 2020... My dealer was just confused...

I updated mine online last summer. North American map package 2021/2022 V10.0. $100 Took about 24 hours to download and transfer to the unit. It included a n/c operating software update.

I think I spoke too soon... Are all of the head units Becker or was that an option? Mine is the base head unit..

The Becker unit is in the glove box. I recall the build sheet for mine listed the wiring "508 NAVIBOX PREINSTALLATION", so maybe the unit itself was an accessory. The unit pops out and the update is performed with a computer and a USB cable. The head unit is "523 RADIO AUDIO 20", I think.

I don't see any ports in the glovebox unless it's covered with a plug so probably don't have it either. I'll check again tomorrow.

@dzl_benz I just looked mine up and I have the same code 527 with the same description...
John CC, I don't have either of those codes on my build sheet. I suspect you have the system I had in my old GLK..

@Silver Shadow Yeah, I have a 2015 but I was curious why that was the case.. I am guessing there was a hardware change or something...

I just looked at that website - that sounds like it will work for my GLK as all I need to do is to save updates on an SD card and use COMAND unit itself to update GPS maps.

Just an update... I did the MBNavupdate and actually ordered the usb stick from them. What I discovered is that our vehicles are very sensitive to the type of USB stick used or the quality of the usb stick.
The stick they sent would fail repeatedly during the update process, so I ended up formatting it and reinstalling the map software from them. They sent me a link to the download when I started having problems. Their blue stick continued to fail.
I installed the update on a high quality 32gig Kingston which gave the message unreadable media.
Finally I installed the maps on a generic USB 2 stick and the process worked flawlessly.
I sent them a note saying they need to make sure they are getting good usb sticks and to give a list of both good and bad brand usb sticks. I pretty much waisted about 10 hours going in circles downloading, formatting, loading and testing different permutations..
So far the maps work!

Sounds like they should've paid you for the work you did in helping them improve their product.
Glad it works well. I'm sticking to the original maps as I don't use the Nav for actually navigating anywere; I do like the map being up and available for quick reference but I mainly use my phone for directions.
