i will take a re-look at the drivers side dash, as i didnt look deep into it, as on the 250 gas and 350 you apparently can see it right in the hole , but someone told me on the deisel 250 its more torwards the engine (front) in the same area ??

It should be in the back just forward and to the right of where the spare tire would be.

The AUX battery is not there on Bluetec models because of the DEF tank. It is near the steering column.

How easy was the replacement, any special tools needed? was it easy to reach in and replace? Thinking of doing this too on the GLK250.

What's the purpose of the AUX battery on GLK250? I don't think ECO start was an option on BT at all... The V6 gasser did have it though, so I'd assume it was to help main battery with frequent engine start/stops?

I was just about to ask the same question.... When I search the internet the GLK 250 in Europe / Middle East seem to have a mini-spare with the battery located in the back. This might be where some of the confusion about location comes from.
..

I could not find any decent video showing a US GLK250 Aux battery location. Only mislabeled GLK350 videos..

Maybe the battery is just to keep things alive when you replace the main battery?

It is a bit frustrating but if you are a small asian boy with feminine hands, you'll be able to reach and do it. I'm a fat german guy with sausage hands. I struggled. That said, i was able to do it myself. Saved a few hundred bucks too!

2013 GLK250
I have 2013 GLK250 blue tech and replaced new main battery a month ago. My auxiliary battery over 10 years old and no issues so far. Should I replace my auxiliary battery now ( preventive maintenance) or wait for it fault message? If I need to replace it , where the auxiliary battery located for 2013 GLk 250 blue tech? I have seen multiple locations in the thread of responses. I would appreciate someone to provide feedback for my both questions.

I've heard they are under forward and to the right from the well where the adblue tank is, but I've also been told I don't have one, and that they are for the eco start-stop function. Do you have that? I didn't think the 250s had it, so, maybe you don't have the aux battery, either, which would explain why you haven't gotten the message...

(I know, maybe not much help...)

If I need to replace it , where the auxiliary battery located
I didn't know our 2014 GLK350 Base had an Aux battery until the message showed up on the dash.
I spent about 5 minutes researching its location ... open the tailgate, lift the spare tire "cover" - the Aux is on the right side, very obvious.
Took about 10 minutes to replace.

However, I can't speak for the 2013 GLK250 BlueTech - you might watch the YouTube posted up in this thread.

My opinion ... if you discover you do have an Aux battery, just wait for the message on the dash.
It's not like the GLK is gonna die on the side of the road when the warning shows up.
After we saw the initial Aux message on the dash, it was a month later when I replaced it

Thank you for your response. My 2013 GLK 250 has Auxiliary battery per my ViN# and Benz dealer. I donot have Eco stop/ Start options and my GLK has adblue tank under tire cover. Based on this info , Auxiliary battery should be under the dash or tire cover ? Please provide your feedback.

As I mentioned - we DO NOT have a BluTech, but we do have ECO ... anyway, I just snapped a photo (below) showing where our Aux battery is, with spare

Thank you for your update. I was confirmed by another Benz mechanic that, GLK 250 blue tech's Auxiliary battery located under the dash near driverside. If it is not blue tech , your batery location is correct.

Nope, not staged - it's looked like that (empty) since we bought it
I should, however, toss that years-old can of flat fixer, since we carry a plug kit and tiny compressor.

Don't you have a compressor to blow up that spare?

If the GLK250 doesn't have eco start-stop then why does it have an aux battery?

Here's a video that provides pretty good details on finding the 250 BT Aux battery, and shows the difference between a 350 Aux battery and 250 BT Aux battery.

The 250 BT Aux battery is tiny (compared to the 350's Aux) and is located on the driver's side far-left dash panel.
As I mentioned, this video has some nice detail on replacing it.

I prefer my SuperFlow tiny compressor - I also put the tire plug tools and patches in the S.F. carry bag and can easily move from vehicle to vehicle.

.
See the video I posted about the 250 BT Aux battery.
