Letters wearing off switches

I've been looking at used GLKs with under 50K miles and noticed that more than a couple of them have either the white letters or the black paint wearing off the window and seat switches. Is this a "thing." Is there an easy fix other than to replace the switch units?

Thanks

I'm not sure if it's common or not on Mercedes. It happened on our 2011 BMW 535i GT. We sold it before replacing them. The buttons were available separately in sets for that car and were inexpensive. That is likely the case for MB as well.

The window buttons are just caps for the switches and are easily replaced. I recently replaced my 4 window buttons with a non-OEM set that were indistinguishable from the OEM set using plastic trim tools to pop the old ones off.
