Oil in coolant
Dealer inspection, oil in coolant. No coolant in oil.
suggested new oil filter housing and thermostat.
this puzzles me; oil/coolant crossover is usually due to a head gasket, where the two fluids are thinly separated.
the oil lines and coolant lines do not appear close anywhere else.
I did read than oil cooler failure may cause hot oil to seep into the coolant lines.
1. think they have it right?
2. Are these do it yourself repairs? (Assuming a fair skill level)
oil was reported in coolant reservoir.
no coolant in engine or transmission fluids.
deemed to be coolant line going through oil filter housing.
The recommended repairs have nothing to do with the problem either. Both would be very simple job that they would charge lot of money fore.
Last time I went to dealer they could not figure out which light bulb needed replacement (not a joke). So I don't bother any more.
You are right blown head-gasket or failed oil cooler (warmer) is where the two fluids meet.

Do you know if the M276 engine, on the updated GLK, has this same oil filter set up and if so, is it affected by the same problem?
had a private mechanic review.
It was supported.
I suppose that one is shocked when Mercedes touts its reputation for reliability, and find out they are worse than Fords.
And clearly, you have either not owned enough Fords or Mercedes to know better
