2010 GLK350 ABS Light, Power Steering, ESP Lights on

Good day folks! First post & a new member here. I drive a 2010 GLK 350...had it since 2010 and it has been a wonderful car until today.

On my lunch break today, noticed everytime I hit 21 Km/Hr, the ABS Light, Power Steering and ESP warning comes on and tells me to check owners Manual.

Now I have done a couple google searches, but none of the little tricks have fixed anything so far. Did the steering wheel recalibration, tried driving in reverse. Glovebox light is working but I'll check the fuses later once I'm home. I'm not very tech savvy or good with mechanical work so what I can do myself is very limited.

My car seems to be running absolutely fine, no leaks, power steering is working fine and brakes seem to be working OK as well. I do know my rear brakes are getting very low, they are making a squeaking noise & I need pads & rotors replaced...but I don't think that could cause these error messages to show up could it?

Also, I was reading about replacing the brake light switch, any suggestions? Should I try that before I take it to a shop to get this diagnosed? Also, sometimes I have to drive 45 mins to 1 hour for work on the highway, is it safe for me to be driving?

ABS and ESP lights often point to a bad wheel speed sensor. You will need a scan tool to confirm the problem and determine which sensor is at fault. If you can buy or borrow an MB-capable tool just scan your ABS system. If not, visit a trusted independent mechanic specializing in MB (or European) cars. I'd leave a visit to a dealership at the bottom of your list. Good luck.

Thank you. I'm definitely staying as far away from the dealership as possible. I luckily know a pretty good Independent shop that specializes in European vehicles, But its a long way away from home. Do you happen to know if Speed Sensor Replacement is a pricey repair or not too bad?

"Pricey" and "not too bad" are both pretty subjective. I'd call it "not too bad", but I know people who think headlight bulbs are pricey...

Also could be a reluctor ring that has gone bad. Do a search and see if your symptoms match, it sounds like they might.

I had this twice. both times it was the reluctor ring. its like 25$ from car quest. u can see the cracked ring around the cv axle. its really not a bad job if u have the e torx, triple sqaure bits and big axle nut socket.
